I wish I wish I wish I had this game. Too bad it was released in 2004. Chances of finding this nice little fan-made game are next to nil now. A sequel was even made for it too! C’mon, you know you want to play as adorable little Chiyo-chan and kick some serious ass (who wouldn’t?). Well, too bad… I can’t find it anywhere. So here are some screen-shots for amusement purposes anyway.

Edit : Actually, I did find the torrent for it, so have fun playing it!

Good topics for azumanga considering the wackiness. Not really interested in it but quality seems pretty reasonable…

@ ron : osaka-san indeed! :D It’s probably doijin software. Nonetheless, it looks extremely fun. Looks like they ripped off moves from everywhere - KOF and Guilty Gear in particular.

@ crazymoogle : I love 2d fighting games. Guilty Gear and KOF, I’m there. The quality seems pretty alright for what it’s worth. Shitty I couldn’t get it to run though - it crashes right after the intro movie. I read somewhere about it not liking dual core systems. Might be a patch out there somewhere…

@ Prim3 : Seems like you don’t understand the Otakuness that is Azumanga Daioh…
And the last time I played a fighting game that was all female was Sailor Moon Super S on the Super Famicom. I haven’t tried Arcane Heart yet.

I’ve played both the fighting game as well as the volleyball game. As a huge Azumanga fan, they totally satisfy my Azumanga fix. The fighting game is pretty cool and has some creative moves, but sadly I am not that good of a fighting game player to do any good other than to try out all the characters.

The volleyball game is much more fun, and more light hearted. There are other’s out there, maybe they’re fan made. One is a snowball fight game with Azumanga characters as well as a racing game (really reminds me of wacky wheels) with the azumanga characters.

@ kin : really?! a snowball game and a racing game? Awe man, you gotta hook me up! I couldn’t get the fighting game to run for some reason. I’ve given up on it for the time being. I really want to try it out! Hey, for the volleyball one, what key do you press to do super moves? I can’t seem to do it, and I can’t spike the ball over with any strength.
